Job Description

Qualified Social Worker, Stockport Council, Children's Support Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team

Our client is looking for a qualified Social Worker with 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children’s Social Work team

The team work extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager

The responsibilities will include:

• Stockport Children's Services are looking for experienced agency social workers for positions within a locality social work team and the school-based pilot scheme, which has recently received national backing by the DfE
• Manage a case load
• The work is varied, with social workers holding cases from the point of assessment to closure or permanence
• Social workers work within a framework of Restorative Practice and our model seeks to minimise transitions for families, instead focussing on building relationships
• Liaise with other professionals
• 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation)
• 3 month Temporary Contract
• Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
