Job Description
Qualified Social Worker, Blackburn Council, Children’s Adoption Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team
Our client is looking for a qualified Social Worker with 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children’s Social Work team
The team work extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager
The responsibilities will include:
• Hold a caseload of Looked After children for whom they are the allocated social worker
• Undertaking statutory visits and all other responsibilities relating to the children’s looked after status
• Alongside this, they will be responsible for seeking adoptive families for these children and supporting them up to the point of the Adoption Order
• Based in the Children's Services office in Blackburn town centre principally, but being as part of Adoption Now Regional Adoption Agency means you will also be required to attend meetings, cover duty, etc at an office in Bolton town centre from time to time
• Blackburn office is open plan with modern working arrangements. There is provision of tablets and smartphones to assist with modern agile working and free car parking available within approx 5 -10 minutes walk
• Experience preferably in both Looked After Children and Family Finding for adoption, but at least one or the other
• Liaise with other professionals
• 37 hours per week(flexible by negotiation)
• 3 month Temporary Contract
• Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
