Job Description
Qualified Social Worker, Assistant Team Manager,Wrexham Council, Childrens Social Work Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team
Our client is looking for a qualified Social Worker with 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children’s Social Work team
The team work extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager
The responsibilities will include:
• Assist the Team Manager to manage the social work service which safeguards from harm and promotes the wellbeing of children in need / vulnerable adults to the designated client group of people who need care and support, and their carers, across the Borough in line with departmental policy based on relevant legislation
• Assist the Team Manager to manage other fieldwork services for that same client group
• Assist in the efficient management of the resources of the team with particular regard to the quality of service provision in accordance with WCBC policy and statutory requirements, within a given budget
• Previous management experience is essential, strong risk assessment skills and a proven record of front line child protection experience and court work. The candidate will work alongside three other Assistant managers
• Team is very busy managing complex work ranging from Child in need cases, Child protection and care proceedings
• Liaise with other professionals
• 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation)
• 3 month Temporary Contract
• Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
