Job Description
Qualified Social Worker, Wakefield Council, Adult Initial Assessment Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within an Adult Social Work team
Our client is looking for a qualified Social Worker with 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within an Adult Social Work team
The team work extremely well together to ensure the safety of vulnerable adults under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager
The responsibilities will include:
• Interact with people with a range of needs such as physical disabilities, older people, cognitive needs, learning disabilities, drugs and alcohol needs, mental health needs, homelessness and offending
• The team triages the referrals, provides advice and signposting, takes any immediate action and directs referrals to appropriate teams
• Candidate is required to have understanding of Care Act 2014 particularly in relation to wellbeing, prevention and assessment
• Beneficial that the candidate has some experience of working confidently with s.42 Care Act enquires with the ability to analyse and prioritise risks
• Candidate will be offered the opportunity to work alongside experienced staff and encouraged to take up training opportunities
• Liaise with other professionals
• 36 hours per week (flexible by negotiation)
• 2 Month Temporary Contract
• Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
