Job Description
Qualified Senior Social Worker, St Helens Council, Children's Duty Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team
Our client is looking for a qualified Social Worker with 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children’s Social Work team
The team work extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager
The responsibilities will include:
• Children is currently expanding to assist in stabilising caseloads
• Experience of managing duty work
• Skills in undertaking assessment and planning for children with a view to establishing the nature of risk to be able transfer cases appropriately either to early help or child protection
• Work is fast paced, the social workers will need excellent communication skills, with experience of managing section 47 enquires and partnership working
• This will be a new team and the social workers will be supported by a team manager and advanced practitioner. The duty social workers will be expected to undertake duty work within a 4 week cycle
• Require excellent organisational skills to ensure their caseloads do not stagnate in order to ensure an effective cycle of duty
• Experience of working directly with children and families and chairing meetings
• 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation)
• 3 month Temporary Contract
• Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
