Job Description

Qualified Social Worker, Swindon Borough Council, Childrens Long Term Safeguarding Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team

Our client is looking for a qualified Social Worker with 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children’s Social Work team

The team work extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager

The responsibilities will include:


• Team requires Social Workers with experience and skill to undertake comprehensive assessments including parenting assessments in a timely way to inform development of outcome focused care plans with Children and their Families
• Undertake care proceedings within the court, both private and public
• Initiate and complete within court timescales and achieve permanency plans for children including adoption
• Need to be able to understand and respond to complexity of risks and are required to evidence on records, including providing analysis of their interventions with children and families
• Candidates need to be able to use theoretical perspectives to inform decision making and practice
• Liaise with other professionals
• 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation)
• 3 month Temporary Contract
• Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
