Job Description

Qualified Social Worker, Shropshire Council, Children's Looked After Children Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team

Our client is looking for a qualified Social Worker with 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children’s Social Work team

The team work extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager

The responsibilities will include:


• Social work assessment in line with the assessment framework and knowledge of secure base model
ensure Shropshire safeguarding policy and procedures are adhered to and implemented
• Permanence planning including robust care planning ensuring the child include in  and central to the plan
• Work with the care planning regulations, including close work with health education and review colleagues to ensure all aspects of the child's plan are details and achieve the agreed assessed outcomes
• Plan and utilise care planning meetings to ensure robust progression of children's plans to avoid drift and delay
• Maintain strong links with the virtual school to ensure PEP and EHCP are informing children's planning
• Adhere to health and health review system including dental optician and strengths and difficulties questionnaires
• Undertake direct work to inform and address identified needs in respect of the child's journey, including life story work, exploitation risk assessment, keep safe work, contact assessments, sibling together or apart assessments, children placed with parents assessments and discharge of care orders including application assessments for SGO's
• Maintain children's case recording to a high standard, utilising the client case recording system LCS
• Partake in delivery of a responsive team duty service
• 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation)
• 3 month Temporary Contract
• Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
