Job Description

Qualified Social Worker, Conference & Review Manager, Stoke on Trent City Council, Childrens Services Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team

Our client is looking for a qualified Social Worker with 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children’s Social Work team

The team work extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager

The responsibilities will include:

• To act as an independent Chair for relevant meetings in respect of the Child Protection and Looked After Children systems
• To promote full participation of children and their families in the child protection and Looked After Children processes
• To ensure high quality practice, sensitive to the needs of looked after children and children requiring child protection plans
• To ensure that diversity is valued and promoted
• To ensure all work undertaken is in accordance with statutory requirements, Directorate and Local Safeguarding Children Board policy and guidelines
• To contribute to the work of inter-agency forums including the Safeguarding Children Board
• To facilitate problem resolution concerning a child’s Care or Protection Plan
• To be responsible for ensuring that relevant advice and guidance in the Directorate, Council and from external agencies and organisations is effectively implemented
• Liaise with other professionals
• 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation)
• 3 month Temporary Contract
• Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
