Job Description

Qualified Social Worker, Dudley Council, Adult Services Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within an Adult Social Work team

Our client is looking for a qualified Social Worker with 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within an Adult Social Work team

The team work extremely well together to ensure the safety of vulnerable adults under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager


The responsibilities will include:

• Work with vulnerable adults who have complex needs to assess their needs and develop support plans to enable them to achieve an optimum level of independence to develop and maintain relationship s and be valued members of their community
• Demonstrate professional commitment and a high level of knowledge, critical thinking, communication skills and creativity, in order to support people to achieve positive outcomes and a good quality of life
• Manage and monitor a workload of very high risk, complex cases and organise work activities taking into account the need to prioritise tasks and responsibilities
• Lead investigations into allegations of adult abuse, implementing adult safeguarding procedures and resultant safeguarding strategies
• Chair and facilitate planning and review meetings as required by Assistant Team Manager/Team Manager
• Contribute to the budget management process
• Use a range of methods to communicate effectively with people use services, eliciting the needs, wishes and feelings of all involved
• Undertake interviews, assessments, observations using appropriate frameworks and applying information gathering skills to formulate plans to meet assessed needs consistent with the function of the team
• Select, use and review timely and appropriate social work interventions that are best suited to the person and their carer, including the design and costing of care and support plans
• Be responsible for the coordination, implementation and review of support plans and respond in a timely way to changes in circumstances
• Work in partnership with people who use services, their families and a wide range of other stakeholders to ensure the provision of quality, innovative services
• Contribute to the development of community resources and have knowledge of local resources, groups and networks that may contribute to enhanced outcomes for people
• 3 days per week (flexible by negotiation)
• 3 Month Temporary Contract
• Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
