Job Description

Qualified Social Worker, Oldham Council, Childrens Assessment Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team

Our client is looking for a qualified Social Worker with 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children’s Social Work team

The team work extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager

The responsibilities will include:

• You will be joining the team at a time of transformation and great investment into services for children and social work practice
• Our social workers deliver effective front-line services that safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people
• There has never been a greater focus on Children's Services in Oldham than right now
• You will be working within Children's Assessment social work teams, being case accountable for a complex and challenging case load of children and young people and completing all necessary statutory requirements
• You will take the lead on championing the voice of children
• The work will include undertaking assessments, direct work with children and families, and formulating and implementing SMART plans
• You will be encouraged to implement creative and innovative methods and models of social work practice through the regularity of case supervision and critical reflective supervision
• You will be supported within your own development to continue to develop professionally through a range of learning and development opportunities which will enhance and promote best practice

• Assessments
• Child Protection work

• Court Work
• Liaise with other professionals
• 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation)
• 3 month Temporary Contract
• Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
